Studio Policies

Studio Christy will provide lesson and theory books, and any assigned songs or worksheets. Any audition/competition fees and travel expenses are the responsibility of the student. 

Absences: Students today are very busy, so we try to be flexible. If given 4 hrs notice for their absence, the lesson time will not appear on the billing cycle. If no notice is given, or within the 4 hours to the lesson time, the lesson will need to be paid for.  *If the student is sick, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I would rather reschedule or do a make up lesson than have a sick student in the studio. 

In the event of a cancellation, a makeup lesson is not always going to be immediately available. 

If a student misses 3 lessons with no notice given in a semester  (No Call, No Show) it will be up to the teacher's discretion whether lessons will continue for the semester. All No Call, No Show Lessons are Billable.

If the student is late, they are only entitled to the time left in their slot.

Cancellation policy: Any weather related cancellations or teacher cancellations will not be billed. We will close the studio any time RSU 2 Closes for snow days. Major and Bank Holidays will be observed, unless otherwise discussed. There are no lessons during school vacations. 

Billing Policy: Payment in advance is always accepted. If payment is not given at the time of the lesson, students/parents will be Billed to the email provided, expected to be paid within 30 days. If payment is not received, I reserve the right to cancel lessons with the student until the account is up to date. 

Student Responsibility : So much of music making is muscle memory! Practicing and the take home work is optional. However, musicianship will only give to you what you put into it! I strongly recommend setting aside time at least once a week before lessons to go over any new music or concepts. 

Students are expected to bring their materials (Folders, music, books, etc.) every week! I will usually have extras for the occasional "forgot it at home", but they will not be available for every week use.
